Cleveland Arcade, OH: Completed in 1890, this is one of the few nineteenth-century glass-covered areas in America--an engineering marvel in its day. The building is shaped around a grand esplanade 300' long and surrounded by 5 tiers of galleries. The building is crowned by a skylight of glass and steel 60' wide, 290' long and 104' above the ground.
