Maps
Maps showing the location of Indian reservations, Indian land claims, and military bases are available to provide information that can be used during consultation. The National NAGPRA program does not have printed versions of these maps available for distribution. However, PDF versions can be downloaded and taken to your local printing or copy center.
- Indian Reservations shows the location of Federal Indian Reservations in the continental United States, and is based on information compiled by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
- The Schedule of Indian Land Cessions and 67 maps was compiled by Charles C. Royce.
- Judicially Established Indian Lands is based on information provided by the Indian Claims Commission. The Indian Claim's Commission was established by Congress in 1946 to settle land claim disputes between Indians and the U.S. Government.
- Military Bases in the Contiguous United States is a low-resolution map showing locations of Department of Defense (DOD) installations. The map is intended to serve as a consultation resource for helping to identify collections from DOD lands.
- National Atlas maps show the Federal Lands and Indian Reservations overlaid on top of State boundaries, selected streams and waterbodies, and major cities for easy reference. In addition, there is a map showing Federal Lands and Indian Reservations for the entire United States.
National NAGPRA Reports
are the official reports of National NAGPRA program activities. The reports summarize a variety of information, including the program expenditures, notice publication statistics, grant information, status of draft regulations, and status of disputes. Additional reports are posted as they become available.
