From April 1997 to January 1998 trenching for the installation of a fire
suppression system was undertaken at Fort Scott National Historic Site,
Kansas. The excavations were monitored to determine if cultural features or
artifacts were located in the areas of disturbance. Monitoring revealed
historic features and artifacts relating to the military and post-military
history of the fort.
