25. Post-Fire Inventory and Evaluation in Yellowstone
National Park: The 1990 Field Season.
Cannon, Kenneth P. and Patrick Phillips
During the summer of 1990, archeologists from the Midwest Archeological
Center, Lincoln, Nebraska, conducted a second year of post-fire inventory
in designated areas of Yellowstone National Park, as part of the compliance
process for post-fire rehabilitation. Approximately 64 km of trails and 66
ha were inventoried. Eleven previously unrecorded sites were documented
and include six prehistoric and five Euroamerican. In addition, two
previously recorded sites were redocumented. This initial phase of
documentation supports eight recommendations for National Register
eligibility.
