Fort Osage 2005

The Center provided technical assistance to the Jackson County Park and Recreation Department at the National Historic Landmark of Fort Osage in the northeastern corner of the Jackson County, Missouri. The park staff and local archaeological society members are is also conducting archeological investigations in an area proposed for a new visitor center. A small area was investigated with a fluxgate gradiometer, resistance meter, and ground penetrating radar.
