Fort Laramie 2005

The Center provided technical assistance to the University of Wyoming and the Office of the State Archaeologist. The focus of the present investigation is on the late military period cemetery within the central area of the community cemetery. The investigation of the Fort Laramie community cemetery is part of a larger geophysical and archeological evaluation project at Fort Laramie National Historic Site. A ground penetrating radar survey was conducted by the Center archeologist while the university/state archeologist personnel conducted a resistance survey of the late military portion of the modern cemetery.
