Buffalo National River 2005

During November-December 2005, a crew from the Midwest Archeological Center conducted an archeological survey of areas scheduled for prescribed burning in 2006. Prehistoric and historic archeological sites were recorded and mapped to ensure that resources that could be damaged by fire are protected and preserved. Jay Sturdevant, Ken Cannon, Mike Hammons, John Gapp, and MWAC volunteer John Banks visited and recorded forty archeological sites within the park.
