Ongoing work continues at Hopewell Culture National
Park’s Hopeton
Earthworks this summer, with the cooperation
of the University of Nebraska archaeological field
school, HOCU and MWAC. From June 7 to July 9,
students become volunteers and research archeologists
become teachers as all work together explore the
past and develop investigative techniques at the
same time.
The contribution of students and other volunteers
on this project is indispensable; the vast number
of volunteer hours logged has enabled researchers
to learn more about the structure of a Hopewellian
earthwork than had previously been known. Click
