Drum and Drum Stick

This type of drum, called a frame or tambourine, is played by the singer to accompany songs at all types of ceremonies and events. Frame drums are used throughout the many of the Columbia Plateau Tribes. Songs are sung to open events of all types, at stick game contests, spiritual ceremonies and a wide range of other activities.
Hand drum. Wooden frame. And deerskin head. Some hair remaining on inside portion and head of drum.

The handle is made from an old bicycle handle bar grip. A cotton flannel was sewn over the mallet end.
