Electronic Field Trips
The
Discover Presidential Log Cabins program
would like to extend thanks to all the participants
in the Electronic Field Trips. Students
and teachers from across the country participated
in live chat sessions with experts from
the National Park Service. They queried
them on the program's restoration of historic
log cabins at the City Point Unit of Petersburg
National Battlefield and Theodore Roosevelt
National Park and the archeological dig
at Valley Forge National Historical Park.
It
is our hope that the Electronic Field Trips
proved to be educational, exciting and fun
for all those who participated. If you and
your students were unable to log in during
the live chat sessions, please feel free
to browse the following transcripts from
each of the Electronic Field Trips.
We
encourage you and your students to explore
the Discover Presidential Log Cabins Web
site to learn more about the lives of George
Washington, Ulysses S. Grant, Abraham Lincoln
and Theodore Roosevelt, all of whom spent
time in log cabins, and are considered to
be among some of the most influential Presidents
in American history.
