State Historic Preservation Plans and Contacts


	State and Territorial Historic Preservation Plans Statewide historic preservation planning is one of the responsibilities carried out under the National Historic Preservation Act by State Historic Preservation Offices in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. All SHPOs have State Plans approved by the National Park Service. The majority of these State Plans are accessible on-line. Listed below in alphabetical order by state are the titles of the statewide historic preservation plans that have been approved by the National Park Service. A Web link is provided for each State Plan that is available on the SHPO Web site. Also included for each state is a contact name, address, telephone number, and an e-mail address.
