State and Territorial Historic Preservation Plans
Statewide historic preservation planning is one of the responsibilities carried out under the National Historic Preservation Act by State Historic Preservation Offices in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. All SHPOs have State Plans approved by the National Park Service. The majority of these State Plans are accessible on-line.
