Members of the Study Team should consult Director's Order 75A which provides guidance on NPS policies relating to civic engagement and public involvement. This new Director's Order is planned to contain a sourcebook. The order contains a number of helpful web sites containing information on public involvement strategies and techniques. Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance (RTCA) staff members are skilled in a variety of public involvement and community visioning techniques. The study team should consider enlisting RTCA staff assistance in designing the proposed public involvement strategy for a NHA feasibility study. If possible, the team should consider involvement of RTCA staff in the various public meetings and forums conducted during the study. The Denver Service center has also developed a public involvement model that may be consulted.
