OVERVIEW
The Golden Crescent region, increasingly threatened by development and population
growth, is part of the nation's common heritage and worthy of efforts to understand and
protect its incomparable resources. To enhance these efforts, the National Park Service
Southeast Region produced the Golden Crescent World Wide Web site as part of the broader
Florida/Georgia Initiative. This initiative relies on broad-based partnerships with
federal, state, and local entities to foster greater public awareness of the unique
natural and cultural resources of the project area.
